Does any one know if it would be possible to somehow hook up the backup camera as a spy cam. What I mean is, is there a way to have it on when the car is off and view it at home on a tv or a computer. I am not talking about if you are at work you could see it at home, but rather if you car is in your driveway could you have like a 900 mhz device transmit the images to a screen (tv or computer) in your home?

Considering how cheap a wireless camera system is (about $99), that would be the way I'd go. You have the advantage of mounting the camera in any location you want.

I've thought about it too, but the real problem is that the camera gets the +6 volt power from the MFD. So, unless you leave the car turned ON, there is no power for it. You would have to build a +6 volt supply, intercept all the camera wiring to splice into it, build a switchbox to toggle it back for correct operation while you drive, and then connect it to a video transmitter. Then you have to get power to run the trasmitter.....etc.
So, IMHO, it would be better to buy a complete, off-the-shelf solution instead.
