I am happy enough with the JBL setup that's in the car now.. However I would like to add a subwoofer to the existing setup..

I know there are a bunch of different wiring pinouts across various years...

from what I am seeing, I should be able to grab the line IN from the amp, and a trigger, send it to a small sub box in the back and be in business -- correct?

I have a Gen II, and I also felt the Bass lacking. Check out my solution and fix in this thread. Read post #37!!

It adds just enough to make my HAPPY!!!

    $99.00 at Amazon..
http://www.amazon.com/dp/product/B000OSZA44?tag=priuschatcom-20 your amp under the passenger seat. If it has 3 plugs it's a 2009 JBL Amp. If it has only 2, that would e a 2008 Amp. I have a 2008, with a 2009 amp.. PM me if you want a PDF copy of the Electrical Schmatics. I have copies of both years!

KK6PD de VE3UDP..... (Glad to see lots of other ham's on here)

That's the perfect solution to be honest... I used to be a HUGE audiophile, and I love some of the tuning options people are using here and signal summing systems -- there was a time when I would go that way - no question...

That looks perfect... Just need to find one here in Canada. Thanks for the offer for the schematics - if you could send them both to me that would be great, my username at gmail.

Where ever you can fit it!!!! In the tire well, on the back of the rear seat, it's not that big of a unit, in fact it's one of the smallest you can get!!! Use your imagination!!!

    KK6PD,
Neat Bass800 install. did you run your high level speaker input from a rear door speaker? What other options are there to supply input to the subwoofer in a Prius with standard 6 speaker system (non-JBL)? Thanks.

Hi there, no I came right off the plug at the JBL amplifiers output!
Best option is as I did, come off the plug on the amp, for non JBL users, the output cables are at the back of the HU, anybody, thoughts on this location..?.!

That's one of the nice features of the BOSS, it accepts both Hi Level (Spkr) and Lo Level (Line Out) as inputs!!!

Is the Boss BASS600 better or the Kenwood KSC-SW10?

I'd like it to be hidden and not take up space, so that leaves under the seat or in the compartment above the spare, right?

I installed Rockford Fosgate P2s, and amp and capacitor to my 2008 with JBLs (I loved the jbls before the upgrade) Since the install I feel that the sound is lacking, I have to keep the volume in the 20s to not overpower the subs? But when I turn them down to raise the volume I lose tons of bass no matter what level the volume is. Is there a solution for this? I need help lol
