The battery ECU part numbers I'm aware of are:

    89890-47090

    89890-47091

    89890-47092

Some documentation I've read stated that they are for different years. My question is, can you put the 89890-47092 on any Prius as it supersedes 90/91 or were the ECU's made to communicate specifically with other ECU's in the car for certain years?

Also, if anyone knows the changes, please let me know.

IIRC the difference in part numbers is just software revision. Nothing major, should all be interchangable.

Yes, 89890-47092 will work in any Gen II Prius. Last time I checked it was the current replacement part number for 2005-2009. I have installed one in a 2004 without any problems.
