Battery ECU part #s

    How critical is matching the ECU part # when a replacement is needed. I have a 10/2005 that I've just swapped 3 cells, then discovered scorched ECU socket/pins.

    My ECU's part # is 89890-47080. Most of the available replacements on eBay are -47090/91/92. Are these superseding #s?

    From my experience on the Gen 2:04 to '09 the later model the better I believe in my '04 I had an '08 or '07 orange plugged still battery ECU under the hood in the back under the battery hood so I think you're good there so pretty much anyone you can get from generation to should be the same I don't think any wiring changed at the battery per se. Other things did change up in the dashboard dimmer switches and the like won't fit in the '05 after '06 most of the stuff won't go on an '05 and lower.

    I sure hope it works that way.
    This is where I get worried again, with it being such a late '05. I've gotta double-check the title but I think it's registered as an '05, not an '06.

    Just use the door panel date like on the old RA 65s that's what's important if yours is an early '06 then you have the 1 mm longer fenders and you have the smaller plugs on a lot of things in the dash The stuff is wired the same they changed the buttons the dimmer and some of the switches and they just won't plug up but the same color wires It's kind of weird I'm not sure why they did that because I guess they wanted to use newer plugs or something.

    Everything RA65 was my world for so long. I still have mine (Sept '82 GT-S coupe), but it needs much love to make a comeback.

    Yes, they are. 47092 is the latest version and replaces 89890-47080.
    I hope that it goes without saying that you replaced the No. 2 frame wire (82165-47040) as well. That looks nasty.
