    Hey all...

I've been reading up on TONS of mods here and some I wonder if it's really needed in the bay area environment - i.e. blocking the front grill.

I just wanted to start a topic and see if bay area prius owners could tag in with the mods they think are either essential for the bay area drive (or california in general) or just simply the most popular in town here.

Hope to hear from you all!

    Thanks!

    Sway bar!

I tried the blocking the grill I believe it was from December 2006 to February 2007, not sure if it made that big an increase, these are a sample of the fill ups in that period of time and the temp at fill up.

My point is that if your weather is like SF, you may find it just doesn't drop cold enough to make a difference. What are hte average temps for the winter in SJ?

By far the most sought after, coveted, and appreciated by those who have it, mod. ;)

    Dongwoo:
Here is my ranking among what I have done
    (1) size up tires - 2mpg drop from 185/65R15 -> 205/60R15, much better grip
    (2) signal mirror - safety, safety, safety
    (3) backup camera/backup sensor (no such option on '05 models)
    (4) BT Plate - it feels more solid to me.

Oh Yeah, ditto on that! I was an early adopter back when one had to stand in a line out the door, LOL!

My SF Bay Area mods have been simple...
    remove stickers from sun visors
    mudflaps
    HOV stickers
    Window vent visor thingies
    safe, decent tires
recent purchases include tire chains and tow rope for snow trips
    cargo net
all weather mat to protect interior from hauling dogs
    rubber floor mats
    center console organizer
homemade change holder to fit into slot below radio
    water bottle

Not to mention that one that's the most complained about by the people who DO have it!
