Best cars..... and redesigned HYundai Ecoboost sonata

The new US-built 2015 Sonata Eco includes a tiny 1.6 liter engine with turboboost giving it 28/38 MPG. Unfortunately Hyundai has been found to be very unreliable. And of course they were caught lying about their MPG scores (and forced to give gasoline refunds to customers): Lexus, General Motors get high marks in new J.D. Power study, but overall vehicle dependability declines | AL.com

"vehicle dependability is declining, the study notes, as there was a 6 percent increase in the average number of problems this year versus last year. Leading the way were engine and transmission problems, particularly for 4-cylinder models......... Lexus led all nameplates, with the fewest number of problems per 100 vehicles, at 68. Rounding out the top 10 were Mercedes-Benz (104), Cadillac (107), Acura (109), Buick (112), Honda (114), Lincoln (114), Toyota (114), Porsche (125) and Infiniti (128)........... MINI had the worst record, with 185 problems per 100 vehicles. Others in the bottom 10 were Dodge (181), Land Rover (179), Jeep (178), Hyundai (169), Mitsubishi (166), Ram (165), Volkswagen (158), Chrysler (155) and Scion (153)."

How can Toyota be both the best (Lexus) and the bottom 10 worst (Scion)? That's very confusing since they are the same engines & transmissions.

 

The Scion FRS has a subaru engine too. Is it having problems?
