Best Excuses to Tell Your Friends Why You Bought A Prius are.....

    1. I am really sticking it to da' man when I am in EV.
    2. I got the car so I can sneak home later without being heard because I am in EV mode.
    3. I have to many girl friends, and don't want to pick up any more girls with my ride.
    4. When in EV mode I can pull a liberal sneak attack on anyone.
    5. I am so rich I had nothing left to buy.
    6. So I can put bumper stickers on the rear bumper like "drop more bombs" , "drill Alaska till its swiss cheese" and "Earth First" then we will strip mine the other planets, so I can confuse the conservatives.
    7. Its a rolling video game when trying to bust 60 mpg and great to break the boredom of long drives
    8. I've always owned Toyotas, and I love the ugly stepchild as much as the sexy cousin (only applies in Kentucky).
    9. I enjoy riding around neighborhoods and scaring the %@#! out of people in EV mode.

    I don't need excuses, I am proud of my ride!

    This actually has the most powerful Toyota engine I have ever owned, and saves $1300 a year in gas over the second most powerful, a 1989 Toyota Corolla All-Trac wagon with a 105 HP 4A-FE engine that lasted 21 years.

    Actually, I am a huge Toyota fan, four vehicles in excess of 500k. 2 of the four stopped changing the oil at 350k in the hopes they'd give out so I could get a new and they didn't. However, having this car only three weeks and everyone ask me why, and I got tired of the easy answer. For me great car, great mileage, fun to drive. So to spice up life I usually use one of the 9 above excuses now.

    My 2005 Toyota matrix was eeking out 31mpg to work, which aint bad. After 88k miles and no maintenance issues on the auto..... the choice to a Toyota Prius was very simple.

    I always say guns are the sugar of life. You can add it to anything and it makes it better. Washing the car? How about washing the car and shooting at the same time?? Golfing? In China you can golf and shoot at the same time! Surfing

    Because it is absolutely, bar none, no question the most fun vehicle to put a GOP decal on :p

    Which I will be doing.

    But it's an interesting thread because a BUNCH of my friends and associates have said things like "Sorry!" and "Why?" upon learning of our newest purchase. But we like it, so whatever :)

    LOVE IT! Filling up the gas tank once a week for me is a dream!! 2010 Matrix XRS was a great car but got tired of being at the pump 3x a week!!

    Don't forget the NRA sticker, too. I have mine on the left side of the short rear window - right above the Prius logo. That reminds me, I need a Romney sticker for the right side.

    I wanted to lower my tax liability. Buying much less gas = less federal, state, county, sales taxes. What is wrong with paying less taxes? Lately it seems un-American.
