I know, for you longer-time owners, this is no big deal. But anyway, I drove 300 miles to visit Mom in Michigan; had the cruise set at 72 most of the time, as speed limit is 70 in Indiana and Michigan. I averaged 50.6 mpg on the trip. I was certainly pleased! Around home, I'm still getting about 46 mpg; but I do a lot of short trips, running the granddaughters here and there... I do love my Prius.

My Prius has 5400 miles on it. I reset the consumption screen on the MFD at every fill-up. I have yet to go into gas station showing less than 50 mpg. I too am very happy with mileage numbers.

Congrats on your new Prius and your exceptional mileage! B)

I picked up my Prius on Saturday. On Monday I had to drive downtown for jury duty (~50 miles round trip) and got 52mpg. I was surprised and thrilled, considering all the posts about new drivers getting lower mileage. My average now seems to be hovering around 47.5 because my normal commute is only 3.5 miles, but I'm still thrilled! It's higher than I expected.

I checked the tire pressure last night to see if I could squeeze out a few more MPG, but surprisingly my dealer had already filled my tires to 42/40. I guess they really are reading this forum. ^_^

Oh well, I still have the bump up after the break in period to look forward to! :D

Wifey and I just took our new 06 on it's first road trip, from Camarillo to Monterey (can you say Pebble Beach??) We put on about 800 miles and finished up at 50.1 mpg. Total miles now on the car is about 1200. Compared to the old Lexus pig at 17 mpg, we saved over $100 in fuel costs. It seems to be getting better and better as the miles go by...

Wow, how do you do that driving in Sac conditions? I average 46-48mpg and only get 50+ when I go out of town and can drive slow.
