Big Article on EV Battery Technology in Today's Local Paper

Big article all about EV battery technology on front page of today's local paper. Tesla, Coda, Nissan, Berkeley Labs, and much more mentioned in article. Apparently we have 24 startup battery companies here in SF Bay Area.

They mentioned how incredibly difficult it is to make a battery with higher energy density while keeping the cost down. One mention is they see costs coming down over time, but they don't see energy density increasing too awfully much in near future.

They also called the battery the achilles heel of an EV, as in the EV concept is marvelous, but the batteries, not so much.

It's a global effort too. China, Japan, .. pouring massive money into R&D.

btw, I saw another Volt today, and I've seen 3 Leafs around town so far - 1 white, 1 black and 1 blue.
