I have an 07 Prius (non-touring) and I was wondering what the biggest tire I can run. I only ask because I have a set of 205/70/15 studded Nokian Hakks that have low miles and I want to use them on the Prius if possible rather than buying a new set of snows.

    Would they work?

    Thanks.

I have 205/60R15 tires on my Prius w/o any problem at all.
That means the width (205) is not a problem (no scratching the inside wheel wall).
However, 205/70R15 is larger in diameter by 4cm. You have to do some measurement yourself.

Did you end up trying that size 205/70/15? Did it rub?

205/70/15 is less likley to rub on my 2012 Prius since my last car being a 2007 Prius like yours which comes with only 185/65/15 stock.

The new tire is nearly 2" taller than the OE tire. I would be concerned with the extra width and the accumulation of ice on bad days. With the way the nice person end sags on the GenII you could end up rubbing the wheel wells. I'd take careful measurements.
