I took the toll road around Houston today to pick up one of my teammates before a ride. The readings below are from said trip. This was with a receiver hitch mounted bike rack and my bike on the rack. Still 2x better than my Tahoe.

your average was 76mph? I suppose most of it was on the freeway, but man you were moving to get that average....probably over 80. Wonder what you would have seen if you were doing 65 on the freeway.

Ya, was running mid to upper70's, occasional 80+ when moving over to the left lane to pass 18wheelers. When I was in the right lane cruising in the mid/upper 70's I was getting passed on the left.

I've noticed that with the bike and bike rack, typically if I stay 65-70mph on the freeways I'll get 38-40mpg depending on the wind. 60-65 will net the low 40's. The issue is, even at 65 I'm typically getting passed and driven up on. I'm getting used to keeping my speeds under 70 but it's taking some reprogramming on my part.
