Just waxed the new whip yesterday, and made new -- pleasant -- discovery of the Prius:

The black plastic trim pieces on the exterior of the car are SMOOTH, and do not have ANY texture to them.

    What does this mean?

NO car wax residue is left behind, causing unsightly white spots on the black. Wax simply wipes right off.

Not a major thing, I know ... but just goes to show the amount of detail that 'Yota put into their design. My wife could not understand my small moment of joy,, however, and she proceeded to shake her head slowly and walk away.

    <_<

Haven't waxed mine yet, but that is terrific news.

Not so sure about that . On my 2004 Prius I made mistake of waxing the black trim around side windows
and IT STAINED . I was using Meguiar's Wax if that made a difference . Now on my 2007 I am making sure NOT to get wax on the BLACK TRIM including the rubber trim around bottom of bumpers . I like Meguiar's cause I found that wax easiest to remove , reg Meguiar's in red bottle.
I'm not crazy about the newer NXT Tech wax they got I find that harder to remove . But it was the original brand that had stained my black metal pieces, I never was able to remove it . just a heads up

You are what we refer to in law enforcement as an "Adam Henry."

I wouldn't jump to that conclusion. Probably a $ thing.

Off-topic, but I really really wish the expression "get a life" would just go away and die already. It's always been pathetically meaningless, but a decade (plus?) of people abusing it have eroded away the very little bit it could have stood for. You may as well yell "YOUR MOM".

I had some bodywork done, and the shop left white overspray on the black trim around the passenger door. I used Megiuar's cleaner wax, and the overspray came off very nicely. No residue, etc. It probably wouldn't be so good on the plastic around the windshield wipers, but door and window frames..yes.

It won't go away if you accidently wipe wax on the black plastic below the wipers. You'll need to use peanut butter to remove that.
