Put on some blitz springs today. . .

Car dropped about an inch all around and looks sportier.

I thought the ride would be terrible as I am running 40 series tires allready, but was pleasantly surprised.

Car feels alot more solid and I believe rides even softer than stock if that is possible? Maybe has something with the progressive technology?

    I highly recommend them.

I'll try and get some pics up of install if anyone interested.

Where'd you get the springs? I didn't know anyone besides TRD had suspension parts for the Prius.

I would love to see some pics. :)

installed the springs and went on a 300mile road trip this weekend. . .

after 300 miles my verdict is:

solid and softer feel with large bumps and dips

firmer and bouncier feel with small bumps on the road

    overall impression:

feels like a totally different car, handles great, and satisfied!

anyone know what toe-in and camber specs to use?

i temporarily turned the camber nuts all the way in to get negative camber and will make a makeshift jig to measure camber and toe, but don't have any numbers to go by. . .

    thanx

    wheels are 18x7 centerlines

tires are nitto neo gen 205x40x18

tire and wheel weigh 38 lbs together, each rim i think was 17 and tire was 21 lbs

stock setup was 30.5 (bathroom scale numbers soo give them some liberty)

for those wondering: gas mileage drops by at least 5miles per gallon depending on how heavy your foot is. . .

my best trip to san diego on this setup pictured, but usually get around 44 mpg

in my opinion. . . totally worth the drop in mileage!

    Thanks for the pics!

Could you take measurements from the center of the wheel to the fender lip at all four corners? That is the best way to measure ride height as then if you are running wheels/tires the diameter of the wheel does not affect the measurement.

If you could try to get a picture straight from the side, from about window height, that'd be awesome!

Like the others, I would also like to know where you got these... Thanks!

Looks like it is either a knock-off or a universal part#. I would contact Blitz direct for more info which I intend to do if I get time today.

I'm also going to call our local spring manufacture and see what they would charge for a custom set. :)

I spoke with someone at Blitz and he said that they special order the springs from Japan. Going direct with Blitz would require the special order and the ETA would be the end of June most likely.

Part# 431169 (He stated this is a vehicle specific kit)

    Retail Price $400

    goodafternoon,

not too many people make springs for the prius as you all know

sigmaautomotive has quite a few, but it's hard to figure out which one to buy

the blitz springs i think lower the prius the most though the "montegi" springs are cheaper

i found a local vendor in santa ana and just bought them there. . .8 week wait from japan!! FR sports in santa ana at 714-881-4495
great customer service and called immediately when springs came it.

at sigmaautomotive, you get a choice between springs for 15 or 16 inch wheels and i am unclear of the difference as mine are 18's. i can't imagine they make two different springs, but if anyone knows, please shed some light upon us. . .

concerning the molding, i cannot remember the vehicle which i pulled them off of, but it was an american make and i believe oldsmobile. i've seen similar molding on a older chevy malibu. the one molding set provided online is pretty basic and unexciting, but is cheap, easy to get and apply, and works! you're gonna have to do some measuring and research if you want more shapely molding to suit your tastes as they will not come stock on a prius! carry a tape measure with you as cruise the streets looking for molding you like and then search for them used or new. put some double stick on the back and stick them on!!

i'll try and get more measurements for the person who asked earlier. . .the 205-40-18's are almost identical in diameter to the stock tires soo the wheel gap and distance from the ground to fender well should be the same?

IMO, the springs for 15" and 16" wheels merely reflect the difference in how low the springs actually would go, some companies make lowering springs anywhere from .25" to 2.5" it all depends on how much you are willing to sacrifice for the look and the handling performance
