Bluetooth static on callers end

I've searched for this, and found a few people mention this problem over the years, but nothing more is said.
My bluetooth sounds great to me. It sounds great to callers, except when the battery is being charged. It took me quite a while to notice the connection. Its so bad that people will not talk to me. It only happens on bluetooth and not with just the phone.
Is this a phone issue? Will a different phone better deal with the interferance? Or is there something wrong with the car that I will have to pay the dealer to fix?
I havent tried an earpiece yet, I just found it and its charging up.
