I recently picked up an 06 prius with 62k miles on it. I had a pre purchase inspection done by toyota and they said everything on the car is in great condition. I noticed while driving the suspension seems fairly bouncy. Even on normal roads it boucnes quite a bit. Is this normal for the prius suspension? If not what should I get checked out. The dealer I bought it from said they did an alignment and balance. I bought the extended platinum warranty from toyota, would this bounce be covered if it is the struts? TIA :)

PS: I am coming to the prius from a 04 325ci bmw with sport suspension so maybe the prius is just normally bouncy?

The Prius suspension is quite soft compared to BMW 3-series. Look at the struts and shocks to see whether you see fluid leakage. If yes, you might be able to get them replaced under your warranty.

If you don't see fluid leakage, you might look into the possibility of installing Touring suspension parts, do a search to find part numbers.

How do I know if I have a touring model?

Since you have a 2006, you don't. Easily visible evidence of the Touring model includes 16" wheels and a larger spoiler.

The Prius should not bounce. Most likely bad shocks.
