I have posted a couple of other threads about noise from the Brake Actuator / Accumulator assembly on startup. And I received differing opinions on whether to replace the pump.

I recently found the following paragraph in the 2007 Prius owner's manual (page 327) which shows Toyota is aware of the noise, but still put out a TSB on it:

' You may hear a small sound in the engine compartment after the hybrid system is started or the brake pedel is depressed repeatedly. This is a pump pulsating sound of the brake system, and is not a malfunction'.

So what do you do if you hear this noise? I am inclined to leave it alone rather than have a major repair job done.

    Thanks! Marvin
