Brake dust cover

    So I am replacing my wheel hubs on my 2010 Toyota Prius. After FINALLY getting the right wheel hub assembly and getting the old one off and the new on on... I forgot to put on the brake dust cover... Just how important is this part... I know if they put it on there to begin with it has a purpose however... getting the wheel hub out again to put the cover back on.. not sure I want to go there if it's not absolutely necessary. The car has 136,000 miles on it. Any replies, suggestions welcome.

    it probably just keeps your wheel cleaner.
