Soo my GF and I are headed out to Burning Man this year. I'v been before (this will by my 4th burn) and it's her first. I'v never taken the prius with me, but this year we are. It's going to be her and I, and about 350 lbs of gear. I have had the fluids changed (that needed to be done) and the breaks. Tires are at about 80% tread, and have been running stock psi in the tires (what ever the door jam says.)

From looking around these threads, and others from a google search. It looks like people seem to like 42/40 as the best tire pressure.

So my question is, do we all agree on that tire pressure for a 1200 mile round trip jurney.

Also, are there any precautions I should take with the prius once it's on playa? should I be covering the A/C intake, and make sure to only have the air recycle feature on?

    Many thanks in advance!

I'm running maximum sidewall found on the tire near the wheel but I like a firm ride.
Just drive the car and use the cabin controls. When you get back, if it has been dusty, you might consider replacing the cabin and engine air filters.

choice. You and I are both happier I am not there.

In my view, tire pressure is ideal when center wear is the same as edge wear. Sadly no one PSI achieves this for every tire. Toyota recommends rear pressure 2 PSI under front pressure.

42f/40r is a fine starting point, but watch your wear and adjust.
