From what I understood, vehicles like e-Palette will be made to suit other transportation and mobility needs so cars can be designed in a less bland manner. Don't quote me on that, though, I just got up and haven't had any coffee.

The 2nd gen is the one that broke the mold. Many people were offended because it looked different and people don't like change. The 3rd gen was a copy, so they couldn't do that again. It feels like the 4th gen is offensive looking just to offend. I like it.

I don't think it's offensive looking, it's aggressively different. There are so many offensively boring cars, I feel like I'm driving in a sea of beige. (Of course, most of what I get to see is ugly car butts, so that colors my worldview commensurately. Honda/Acura have some really ugly butt cars...like the MAD TV "Big Butts" sketch)

What we Brits call a 'double-decker' - not to be confused with a brand of candy bar

I've always liked the look of the Gen 3, but man I love the newer look so much more. I am biased because I drive one now, but when the dealer pulled my 2018 Blizzard Pearl Two Eco I knew instantly that that was my car. It hooked me for sure. I thought about getting the Prime, but something about it felt not quite right with its looks, almost like it was ashamed Gen 4 or something and is wearing a black mask.

It is amusing how much folks seem to either or love or hate the rear of Gen 4 Prii. I loved it at first sight. My son detested it until he got to drive it, and quickly changed his mind. It is wonderful that it looks different from other cars. Fine with me. But then I have always been an Outlier, so if others feel my car is weird, that is okie dokie with me.

I saw my first Gen 4 on the road (other than one in the distance on a Motorway) last week - and my first red one. it was raining at night. I instantly recognised it as it came out of a side street, and when it ended up in a turning lane ahead of me, it was, yes, distinctive, but I thought better looking than I expected.

When I’m driving I don’t see much of the outside of the car.

Could look like a flaming turf on a roller skate as long as it does what I want

We've seen "ugly" with each of the hatchback generations of Prius, initially.

Eventually though, as market penetration hit the point of routine sightings, those comments vanished.
