Buying a Used Prius

    I would like to own a Prius for the first time and am considering getting a 2008 used Prius from a private seller. I have been searching on Craigslist but there are not that many choices. Are there any other good sites I should check? I reside in Sunnyvale, CA.

    Check out Craig's list in Sacramento area... Way more availability once you get out of sf bay area...

    I would also recommend expanding your search area. I consistently had few choices within 100 miles but when I expanded the search area to 200 miles I had far more choices. Good luck.

    You're in the heart of Prius Country. You sure you're doing Craigslist search right? I find 9 2008 Prius for sale by private owners in SF Bay Area. Not sure why you limit yourself to 2008. If you expand your search to all Gen2 models, I'm sure the hits would approach 100 for private sale.

    Thank you everyone for your suggestion. I will look at the other suggested sites and expand my search area. I am not sure why I am seeing only 2 Prius for sale on the Bay Area Craigslist. I will look into it too.

    I am also expanding my search to 2007 & 2009 models. I picked 2008 as a starting point since generally a 4-year old car is at a sweet spot in terms of depreciation.

    SF bay area cars & trucks - all classifieds "2007 prius" - craigslist alone turned up 182 hits.
    SF bay area cars & trucks - all classifieds "2008 prius" - craigslist turned up 119 hits.
    SF bay area cars & trucks - all classifieds "2009 prius" - craigslist turned up 139 hits.
