Shopping for a new 2007 Prius. I have offers to purchase any package at invoice from a couple of dealers in Chicagoland, expiring at months end. I was looking for a package #2, has anybody been able to purchase for under invoice lately?

I doubt you can get them under invoice, but you can get them well below MSRP.

Maybe, but it depends on your region. I've seen some reports of people in California getting offers below invoice for higher packages. But Edmunds also says there's a $750 cash back incentive, too, which would mean it should be possible to cut into that.

I was quoted from an AZ dealer $100 over invoice for a Touring Package #6. I went thru Sams club Auto Buyer thing. I am hopefully picking it up tonight at that price.

Lowest other dealer was $550 over invoice.

Some people seem to be able to go under invoice in a few choice markets and then only when there are dozens on the lot. I bought mine earlier this month (also package #2) for 23,469 including floor mats, which is 700 under MSRP - and I only got that from haggling with multiple dealors and multiple internet managers over a couple weeks. If you can get the car at invoice, you should go for it -- remember, the dealorship has to make some money off of the deal and can't sell the car to you at their 'cost' AND give you all of their manufacturer kickbacks, they won't do it and they won't be too happy with you for trying to haggle that low. I hope you will like your new car as much as I like mine!

Thanks for the input. I figured it was a great deal, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

$300 under invoice for a #2 in Culver City Ca. last weekend. A nice low key experience.
They did have quite a few others as well as pkg #5 and 6. Very good financing now from Toyota.
PM me if you want info.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I thought the floormats came stock with all Prii. I know my '06 no-frills plane Jane had them for free and I didn't even have to haggle. And the floor mats are so pretty too...

Some good pricing is out there. I got Package #6 for $400 under invoice at Westboro Toyota (MA). Just checked their website -- same pricing structure, and they've sold a bunch. They had 37 Prii when I bought mine a month ago, now they're down to 12. Dealership is home to Hybrid Center of Massachusetts. Best car-buying experience I've had -- no pressure, no sales antics, and the sales person I worked with is a retired chemical engineer who saw the writing on the wall 20 years ago and is passionate about global warming (and the Prius).

Are they listed on your window sticker? In June 2006 my floor mats were add-on accessories. I believe your dealer threw in the mats. My dealer swapped out 4 lug nuts.

I just bought an 2007 Prius Package #2 here in Oregon last month for a full $1,000 UNDER invoice.

The dealer had a total of 29 Priuses in stock, the most they have ever had. They had 12 of just the #2 packages alone!

So I pretty much got to pick the specific color that I wanted. They told me that car sales in general had been going very slow. They were overstocked on virtually everything, and having to have sales.
The lower fuel prices had also hurt sales, in their opinions. However, high prices for gas will be back again with us very soon! I bet Prius sales go back up real soon, and they become hard to get again in just another few months.

Just this past September, I was quote a month's wait to order a Prius. So things really dramatically changed.

    Here is my car:

The $750 Cash Back Incentive is on the Corolla, not the Prius. The only incentive for the Prius is the financing. :)

Congrats! I can't really tell from the picture if it's really light green or silver?
What was the final price of the car?

I apologize. I should have said that it was $1,000 off the official Toyota MSRP, that they have on their website for the #2 package.

I just bought a touring edition Package 5 in North Scottsdale. Dealer charged me $500 over invoice but included in that price a tint job that had a "sticker" charge of $399.

I got a package #5 Magnetic Gray in late January for $250 UNDER invoice in New Jersey. The total came to $2300 before taxes, etc. Drove it home that day with the 0% financing.

    Such a deal!!!

How do you find the real invoice pricing? What with all the different distributors in the US? Is the one at edmunds.com fairly accruate? Thanks!

    $2300?????????

Man, even if you forgot a zero, that's STILL one heck of a deal... and more like $2500 under invoice...

Huh. Last I looked at Edmunds they mentioned it. Oh well, guess you can't believe everything you read there...

...like the TMV for the Prius still being over MSRP... :)
