What happens if the keyfob dies? I know I can unlock the door manually with the Key that is in the keyfob, but what about starting my car? How can I do this when I do not have a place to stick the key in and crank the car? Did toyota not think of this? My friend's Hyundai sonata has a place in the arm-rest compartment to slide the keyfob into to start the car even when the battery has died in the keyfob. Or do I need to just keep a spare battery in the armrest compartment when my keyfob dies?

You just need to hold the fob near the button and the car should start, and replace the fob battery asap.

^^ what he said. Hold the back of the fob (the side with the Toyota logo) against the POWER button briefly and then start the car like you normally would.
