    hi folks,

My 2004 Prius at 230Kmiles is throwing a number of codes:

    p1116, p1121 - stack valve stuff
p0420 - AirFuel sensor, replaced rear O2 sensor but didn't help

C342D - this one is mysterious to me, "C" denotes chassis I believe.

does any one know of code c342d ?

    thanks

That is not a valid Prius DTC.

You'll need to replace the catalytic converter to address P0420.

PW - You meant C342D code ? yeah, weird. May be it's my cheapy OBD-II reader. Anyway, I was afraid to learn of the Cat. Is it worth tryin to replace the AF sensor first ? I am in CA so the Cat probably will be pricey. Also I've heard these hybrids will be subjected to smog inspection starting in 2015.

The dreaded oil burn is probably killing the cat.
