In addition to the price of the car, what else should I expect to pay at the time of purchase? I'm in So. Cal. (Los Angeles).

    Purchase price
    Tax (9.75%)
    DMV Registration: how much?
    Doc fees:?

    Anything else?

Not all CA dealers have those useless add-ons (Longo Toyota for one), but in terms of mandatory fees:

    Purchase price
Sales tax: your local tax rate on purchase price + doc. fee
    Doc. fee: $55
License fee: $369 (may be more or less based on the purchase price)
    Registration/Transfer/Titling fees: $67
    CA tires tax: $8.75

You may calculate the fees for your particular purchase price by visiting https://mv.dmv.ca.gov/FeeCalculatorWeb/newVehicleForm.do

Some dealers like Longo impose their own higher tax rate (10.25%) and refund you the difference based on your local tax rate after transaction.
