I just bought new pads and rotors for my 2011 Prius gen 3. I bought Duralast 44662 Rotors and Duralast DG1184 brake pads. Everything fits on perfect until I tried to reinstall my caliper which just will not fit over the shims. I have compressed the caliper as much as it can go but it does not help. Do I grind down the shim? I'm stuck. Thanks

Will they refund your money so you can buy Toyota parts?

I'm not asking about Toyota parts, I'm asking about these (Duralast) parts. I just want to make what I have fit. The Autozone website says that I have the correct brakes (Rotors and pads).

I'm taking them back tomorrow and getting my money back. They should fit with no issues.

^ Good plan. I too would just go with Toyota.

    FYI, some (new) thickness specs:

    Front rotor: 25.0 (mm, typ)
Front pad: 10.0 (without backing plate, so not that conclusive)

    Rear rotor: 9.0
    Rear pad: 9.5

Did you remove the brake fluid cover when compressing the pads?

I solved it by returning the Duralast

Are we talking front or rear??.......if rear, I suggest that the piston is not FULLY retracted (screwed in).......FWIW, I have successfully used "Duralast" pads & rotors on the rear of my Gen 3 ........
