Our 2003 Prius is in great condition, and already has 290k miles on the hybrid battery. It just gave the P3006 code after we came back from a 2 month vacation using our Tacoma. (I didn't know it s bad to let a Prius sit...it also ruined the 1 year old 12V accessory battery) I am considering getting a Prolong charger and would like to know, especially from people who have used the Prolong charger, how many miles can they extend the battery to? It appears that at 290k we have already gotten far more than most people, but like I said...we never even got this code until after it had sit undriven for 2 months. THANKS

I think the 16 years on the hybrid battery is more relevant than the 290k miles. With that in mind, I rather put money into a new battery. You've been very fortunate.
