Title says is all. I just bought new winter and summer tires for my 2009 and am considering changing for a prius v (lowercase v for the Prius v wagon).

    thanks!

No, the bolt pattern is different.
    5 x 100mm vs 5 x 114.3mm

Correct; different bolt circle. Backset may also differ, but bolt circle rules out the swap.

The Tires will be less capable of holding up weight, so the amount of weight you can carry is reduced.

The P205/R6016 tires I have on my 2012 v Three can hold up 1,356 lbs. each

In a P195/R5516 tire you can only hold up 1201 lbs. each so each tire can hold up 150 lbs less each so the car can hold up 600 lbs less in total.

The Prius v is only normally rate to carry 915 lbs. so you would overload it at 315 lbs on P195/R5516 tires. At best you can only have one passenger. (in my case it would be overloaded with me alone)

The wheel are a different matter. They simply won't work. The Liftback has the lug nuts 100 mm apart while the v has them 114.5 mm apart.
So you can't get the wheel to mount.

    HiT
Thansk everyone for the reply. Sorry for not replying earlier, I didnt get an email alert and thought nobody had answered.

Looks like the wheel swap won't work. However, would the tire swap work? I am not sure I understand /agree with Jimbo's matchs. If each tire can carry 1201 pound, then 4800 pounds is more than enough to carry the car, 4 passengers and all their gear...

You need to subtract from what can carry now. It would just bately carry you. No passengers no cargo
