I got a letter that I had not been using my Chase credit card enough so they were reducing my limit from $15k to $7k.

I called their number and canceled the card. I pointed out my other Visa card gives me credit for charging my electric cars. “But we give you 1% for external to Amazon purchases.”

“Yes but you do not help me with my electric cars.”

I gave the rep top marks except for “addressed your needs” which got a ‘no opinion.’ Like me, like my electric cars.

    Apple card?

I'm not a shill for the company as you WELL know...
    HOWEVER (comma!!!!)
"I am told" that their little titanium card (or, more accurately, your phone) will give you 3% back at some of the more popular EV charging stations.
    TIFWIW....

I try and mostly succeed to stay well away from "too big to fail" banks like JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, and U.S. Bancorp. Apple sold out their customer base last month by switching from Goldman Sachs to JPM Chase - so I'm going to be re-evaluating my relationship with them.
The Apple Card is like all things Apple to me.
I grudgingly like it more than I want to - but I can get by without one.
Not so sure about their phones any more - but I buy 2-3 year old non-pro models at the apple "Certified Refurbished" store and enjoy a 10% veterans discount.
They are in my experience, indistinguishable from new and carry the same warranty.

Goldman Sachs used to have very low credit limits for their cards - but I have a 830-ish credit score because my savings account is always larger than my credit card limits. ;)
I can get by with just a few thousand bucks.

    One more thing.
It may not be your card use.
Credit card limits do not automatically lower simply because you get to be an old fart.
Age discrimination in credit is illegal.
    However,
    COMMA!!!!!
It is common for credit limits to decrease around retirement age (often 65-70+) due to changes in financial circumstances that lenders "associate" with higher risk.
In other words - because you are getting older.

    ONE MORE, one more thing.....
    You're a vet.
    A Marine vet.
That means you were a part of the department of the USN.
    I know....
    The "Men's Department."

Redstone Federal Credit Union (RFCU) may be available to you. ;)
NFCU is too but they're not local.....
You can use them anyway and they have cash-back schemes which I pay scant attention to because: credit cards.
    MY mileage.
    YOURS will probably vary.
