I have a canoe, about 15 feet long, and around 100 lbs or so... What would you all suggest for a roof rack for this purpose? Thanks!

That's actually an easier setup than I have for my 2 kayaks (and less weight to carry too).

Basically, all you need is the rack itself. There's no need for saddles or rollers, since a canoe can be carried upside-down on just the bars alone.

Refer to the USER-GUIDE for details.

Agreeign with john, it's not a problem! Just get a rack from Thule or Yakima, and you're set. Pop the canoe on upside down, secure the tie downs, and you're off to the races.

The weight and length shouldn't be an issue - i have a 70 lb, 17 foot long kayak that does just fine, and i have had another 16.5 footer up there with it, no problems!

my 17 ft one sticks out a little bit in the front and the back, but a 15 ft length should fit pretty much perfectly over the car.

Agreed - we carry our 13 footer on top of our Yakima rack. We use the gunwale supports from Yakima and carry the boat "upside down". We use the standard yakima cinch-down straps and don't tie it off at the front or back - but we check it regularly and keep an eye on it.

    Works great - see picture.
