I ordered a new case and battery to replace the original damaged SKS fob..

Switched over circuit board and battery (tested 3.23 volts) and now the car does not respond to the fob, not even when its inserted into the dash..

battery was out of the fob for less then 3 mins

red led on fob lights up when buttons are pushed ..so its getting power.
just for the hell of it I put everything back in the old case with the old battery and its still not responding...

    any ideas?
(lesson learned dad, if it aint broke don't ***k with it)

could the circuit board have been damaged, and moving it was the straw that broke the camels back?

Well, both mine work perfectly, thanks! …so, judging by your driving skills (…from your taste in art) I guess I'd better keep out of your way! Have a great life! ;) :)

PS: Ideas: (1) check 12V Aux-battery (both my fobs started getting flakey just before my Aux-battery up and died…
    (2) fix it until it is broke!

Yup, always have a working backup.

My understanding is the car can only have 5 FOB's seeded to it. Maybe your ebay unit was #5 and it now sees the rebuilt SKS as #6.

a used fob will never work the SKS just the starting of the car with the fob in the dash..I hate when something simple turns into a total cluster ****, the SKS will have to be reseeded and new fobs for about $500 if I cant fix this master fob

The transponder is separate from the circuit board. It's really small and easy to lose. My guess is that it's still in the old case or it fell out while things were getting moved over. Find it and things will probably work.

I stand corrected, I did not move the chip over to the new remote, I thought it was built onto the board.dug the old case out of the trash and looked at it again, didn't see it the first time...the SKS keyless system dose not work but it will start the car when inserted into the dash..

    THANKS!

you and eastside are correct, found it and moved it over, SKS still not working as it did before but the fob will start the car. thank you..btw its on the bottom half of the case in the top left, chip color matches the case so I never saw it.

I didn't know the there was a chip in the case itself, didn't move it over to the new case, SKS still not working but at least it starts the car now
