I've just come across the website Choose The Blue, which is a rather nifty database giving information about how much money companies donate to the two main US political parties.

The page that concerns us is the one showing the car manufacturers.

    Spot the odd one out.

and the Nummi plant gave about 1/30th to 1/50th of what the other guys donated.... :)

in perspective, it vanishes in the glare of the others. the other guys tend to like the "red" approach of granting liberties to high fuel consumption vehicles, etc., so Nummi supporting the "blues" who traditionally are more in the eco-direction doesn't surprise me in the least.

    :)

The Republican Party thanks you for your support by purchasing a Toyota Prius . . . which, by the way, is not manufactured at New United Motor - which is buried deep in a Blue colony in the San Francisco Bay area. :p

    Toyota . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 26% $5,334
    Toyota Motor Sales USA . . 23% $10,768
    Toyota of Orange . . . . . . . 30% $3,900
    Toyota Walnut Creek . . . . 10% $3,577

There are more of the same. Except for the pittance given by NUMMI, all other reference to Toyota are very red . . . four at 100%!
