Central locking control unit help needed

my venerable but sprightly (2007 but only 80K miles) T-Spirit VV-I Auto is in danger - when the alarm kept going off at random, failure of the Central Locking Network Gateway Control Unit was diagnosed and the unit was replaced (unit supplied by a Toyota main dealer to my trusted local garage/repair shop which mainly does Mercedes). I was told from the off that the key fobs would require reprogramming or replacing. The car's central locking now doesn't work. Several weeks later, no-one wants to help. Repair shops say they haven't the technology and one main dealer, having told me to bring ID and my V5 form, then said they weren't interested. Toyota customer relations told me that any main dealer should be able to handle this, but I am aware that it may not be worth repairing (current WeBuyAnyCar offer is £3300, much less if they know the central locking doesn't work). Advice most welcome, the car works really well apart from the central locking.
