Charging the 12 V auxiliary battery by using fuse box outlet

    Yes, you can charge it using the jump start post in the fuse box and a convenient ground nearby. I've done it.

    Do the dealers in Finland routinely install block heaters or do you have to special order and have it installed. In Canada it's an dealer installed option, my invoice put it at $110CDN.

    Engine block heaters in Finland


    Engine block heaters are not standard in Finland.
    The reason is our very high car tax. If heater is factory fitted it means double price!
    Prius block heater is 248 Euros (300 USD) option, if it is fitted in Finland. If it would be factory fitted, then the price would be about 500 USD!

    I ordered Defa block heater.
