Wanted to share that after some searching I finally found an arm rest that’s both CHEAP AND FITS on the center console for our cars. I have spent some $ on several from Amazon and many are too flat, wrong design, too large etc. So I did go thru a bunch. This one can I found at Autozone for $10, it may be at Walmart or something too.

It is the design that has Velcro straps that you can undo and pull thru & under to get them to connect so you don’t have to do anything else.

If you get one, install it with the Velcro square on the passenger side of the arm rest or it can mess with your shirt sometimes around the elbow if it’s a long sleeve. It fits snugly and can slide towards the front or back of the car. Soft, feels so much better. Does not effect the opening the console as long as the passenger seat isn’t lined up with it (it can bump into the side of the pass seat and can hinder opening the console fully). I have it on my 2020 Prime LE so it should fit all 2017-2022 models. As you can see the console itself is just a bit wider, but viewed from above it looks almost like an aftermarket part.

WELL, there’s the results of my exhaustive difficult research, LOL JK. I have no idea if it comes in other colors; bought black because that’s what they had. Funny - I tried Amazon ones and none fit well and I find one down the street at Autozone.

Note: it may be just a little too high for shorter drivers or those with short arms. For me it’s just about perfect being 5’9 with average length arms (at least I think, lol).

My right arm fit just fine resting on the top of the center console. it is the left armrest that needs to be bumped up. I remember @jerrymildred has modded the left armrest on the door handle. I may try that for my next long trip.

Every time I drive my wife's Gen 4 I almost fall over against the driver's door when I try to rest my elbow. I offered to make an arm rest for her, but she doesn't want one. So, if we take a long trip in her car, I transplant mine to her car.

I just cover it with a large wash cloth or kitchen towel. I have 3 color matched, one in each front seat pocket and on center console. They come in handy to wipe off the glass, spills and yourself. Rotate them thru the wash, keeps everything neat.
