    Got lip? :p

Since it was cheap as chips, I decided to try it on and see how it would look and function.
It definitely made the car look lower and though it always rubs on my otherwise non-steep driveway, it is made of medium soft rubber and therefore is able to bend. You won't even hear or feel it scraping. Functionality-wise, I haven't really felt a difference in MPG yet as it started to get colder here and therefore been seeing expected losses in MPG already. Though i kind of felt my glides on my usual route went a bit longer or the speed dropped slower than normal. Not entirely sure. Haven't done some highway miles on this either. The only thing I'd recommend is to reinforce it with screw fasteners or clips from the underside as it is only held by double sided tape. I've temporarily used some medium-sized binder clips you'd use in documents and seems to be holding on.

    Bought it from ebay

I did this on my 06 Acura TL twice after the first one developed a small tear and love how it looks. It's a rubber or foam liner used to keep water or weather out from the bottom of a garage door. Dubbed "HD lip" for Home Depot since you buy it there for like $10 compared to those scammers on Ebay selling it for $50+. Almost did this last week to our new prius but my girl said it may look tacky. Compromised and said lets look in the daylight. When time and weather permits I'll do take many pics and get this on my white prius. This month for sure.

I did this lip install about 10 days ago.
Here's one with and one without that parked behind.

i like how you removed the original small lip, which gives the splitter more surface area to cling onto. It looks good too!

I purchased some of this material (frost king garage door seal hammer on wit nails) and double stick tape....the lip splitter/lip mod looks okay the one you have posted. Sadly on my vehicle the lower lip is damaged on the right side of vehicle. To fix would require replace....I have been playing around with this material and seems to make a nice fit for upper grill block.

Looks good and nice visors. I started to put mine on but got distracted by house projects. When holding mine up to the bumper I wondered if I should cut the lip when the bumper starts to corner. Basically have it the length of the lower grill and taper it off in a way. On my TL I did a lip twice. First time it was all the way across and kinda looked funny on the corners. Last time I did it, we cut it where the bumper curves and looks so much better. Thoughts on doing a full length lip VS a lip only covering area below the grill?

Quick reference pic of how my lip is now on my TL. Please don't need comments on the red paint, I plan on blacking it out when I can afford a new paint job. 20130821_115840.jpg

Looks good! I did this to my previous car, a '00 Olds Alero, and it was perfect. Super easy, 10 min install and looked great. I considered doing this to the Prius, but wasn't sure since the bottom of the front bumper cover is not flat. Still, looks like you worked around it easily enough. For $15, I'll give it a go this weekend.

It takes a little bit of patience. I did fasten the edges where it contours and also with the plastic trim bolts since it runs through the path of where it mounts on the bumper.

    Here's another view:

Used self tapping short screws on some edges and clamped it over night for better hold on the tape. This is my fiance' and my car (title is in both names) but she drives it mostly. She thinks it's ugly and wants it off. Claims people ask "is that a factory defect?" and it does nothing for the car with no benefits. My friends and I really like it. KEEP or LOSE it?
