My other car is not a Prius so I still like cheap gas. Gas tax in my state is about 50 cents. So I should see gas at the pump for $1.90 in a week or two. Nice. If the barrel price goes under fifty bucks - Wow.

    ha! yeah right.

In Canada, despite $50/barrel for oil, we're still riding on $1/litre (that's around $3.75/gal). At $50/barrel, we should be down to 60¢/litre. They claim that they "haven't received the $50/barrel crude oil yet." Uh huh. and when it shoots up to $70/barrel, shipment magically becomes faster and they get the oil sooner.

That means operating my Prius will cost even less. Sweet!

And of course people have short memories and they'll start buying up the gas hogging vehicles again, and then we'll hear them gripe about not being able to afford their car because fuel is back to normal price-gouging levels.

It's still $1.039/litre in my area... I don't see it dropping to 80 let alone 70¢ any time soon.

The economy is definitely slowing, less demand=lower prices. I think there will be another major bump in about two years and then the oil company control will be over. :D

You have a Tundra, too? We'd be car-twins if I hadn't sold my '65 Mustang several years ago. 4 speed A-code with no AC, black, but it just wasn't cutting it in Austin TX when it's 105 in the shade.
