For a couple months, I have been using 'Type S' brand seat covers, a lesser found brand in auto parts stores. This cover has a suede middle and synthetic type leather on the sides.

Inside the cover, the synthetic leather folds back at the seams and a strip lays flat on the OEM fabric. That strip can transfer what looks like dye onto the original fabric.

I got tired of the cover on my used custom seat, took it off and saw some dye line on upper seatback. So, I took the passenger cover off immediately since that is an original seat. It got a a tiny line on upper seatback too. Not bad though.

Glad I caught it early on. Could have been worse if left on for years.
