I bought my pre-owned 2011 Prius 4 from a non-Toyota dealer, and they did not have the original Nav disc at the time, so put in another that they had there. Many roads are non-existent on the maps, and I wonder how I can check which version I have? I have seen that the 2013 update should be out around october, any ideas exactly when?

A Toyota dealer should be able to tell you.

To check version press Setup button -> then Map. I believe this will display Nav version info.

or you could spend less than half as much and get a much better dash mounted gps and enjoy the benefits of being able to take it with you anywhere as well as free map upgrades for the life of the unit...

I prefer the benefits of the built-in Nav. Yes, the cost of updates are high but I have only seen the advantage of updating every 4-5 years.
