Cheney's Law, Frontline

This country desperately needs to find the balls to arrest those bastards and bind them over to the Hague in shackles. Even more repugnant and frightening than their crimes is our acceding them.

You can glean a lot on this subject if you Google neoconservatism and Leo Strauss (founder of the neocon movement, so to speak). Strauss' followers that include Cheney, believe they are on a mission so nobel they need not be constrained by things like the constitution.

 

Not that I condone what Cheney is doing but he is laying the groundwork to make Hillary the most powerful president ever. What is his contingency for that? Or is he so powerful that he knows future election results. Big gamble for him.

Well spoken, and essentially what I keep writing on Democratic fundraising mailers. Around here in liberal land we keep sending those fund requests back empty with notations like the above printed across the letters. "Our" acceding to their crimes is the most frightening of all, and yes, they are setting precedents for Hillary which they will whine and complain and obstruct for the next 8 years.

Problem is that the Democratic Congress is busy writing laws to codify a lot of what the Bush administration simply went ahead and did (surveillance programs).
