Chicago Prius Group Meetup

May I suggest a start time of 11:30 so us Prius owners who live south of O'Hare don't have to get up at the crack of dawn.

I think you meant the east side of the parking lot, the part close to the frontage road/expressway. The west side would be right next to the shops which is the crowded part and difficult to find parking. The other option is to park in the free parking garage adjacent to the south end across from Gameworks. The garage is usually empty on the upper levels, so if we met at say the third level we could park everyone next to each other, be sheltered from any bad weather and if desired drive up to the top level for pictures (better light).

So what happened? Between church and taking my son to a b'day party, I wasn't able to swing by Chipotle's until about 2:00 and I didn't see ANY Prii in the parking lot It was packed though, with a beautiful day so everybody was out shopping or driving around. Saw a few Mini Coopers and Nissan Versa, Honda Fit, even saw a Lamborghini roll by, but no Prii at all. With the nice weather and a longer trip, I'm finally above 50 mpg again.

Want to thank you for organizing the March 25th meet! It was a great time. I really enjoyed talking to the members and learning a lot of things I wasn't aware of.

It was a great day. Weather was perfect, conservation was great, and it was pretty cool seeing all those Priui lined up (plus the Camry hybrid - hi Mike).

Wife worked last night and started fading so we left early, but again I want to thank Tony and all who came and made it a great get-together.

Nerfer, sorry you missed it. I left about 1:00.

 

I think the official count was 9 Gen II Prius, 1 Classic Prius, 1 Camry Hybrid, 1 Gen I Civic Hybrid and one non-hybrid. Some of the Prius were brand new. Great to swap some tips, info and to show my new toy the ......................(come out and see Mike). Can't wait for the pic's. Some talk of alternate meeting places and the next meet in May. After lunch off to the nearby Forest Preserve for more pictures. And I had the best tank MPG there B) . But no one wanted a engine block heater installed .
