I recently posted about heat vent problems and air not coming out of my defrost. I took off the glove compartment and played around with switching the air vents and heard noise coming from the plastic rotating piece. Every time I tried switching modes it would struggle to move. It appears to be off track.

How can I more easily gain access to fix this? Also are there instructions to show how it's supposed to line up? P1130091.JPG

Thanks but I can't seem to get to it. Should I be removing the top glove compartment. There is a lot in the way that I can't easily access the air outlet control servo motor

Here's the main section on removal/install, and I'll pm you something.

Thanks for all that. I couldn't find what I needed though. It looks like the cog fits in somewhere but I can't tell where with everything in the way. I experimented with it all day and nothing seems to secure the big cog where it should be

Everything surrounding the area look like it can not be removed or at least easily. It's in a super tight space to the left of the in-cabin air filter bay.

Unfortunately no. It's still not fixed.
