In the last couple weeks I have had this persistent clicking sounds under the dash. The car will be in park and even with the air not blowing it still does it. When I turn the air on it makes a creaky kind of fart sound and it does it again when I switch from cabin air to fresh. Is this an expensive fix? I have read that it might be some sort of air damper issue as far as the creaky door but not sure about the clicking. Does this mean the a/c is about to go out?

Does it sound like this? If so, I’m having the same problem.

Is your AC system ON, when this noise is produced, or not?

Have you checked the AC system blower fan? If its stuck with dirt, its gonna make that noise. Also, if the blower motor is about to fail, that noise comes up too.

I noticed this same exact clicking sound when I switched to recirculate the other day but with the heat. I figured the cabin air filter just need to be replaced but I haven't looked into it yet. My theory is that the filters plugged so bad that the blower can stuck enough air. If its not that my second guess is the flapper that control the vent position is stuck. I really hope its not the latter. As for the fart noise mine has always done that when using the AC I just considered it to be normal.
