My 2005 has about 63,000 miles and I am beginning to notice fan noise on the higher settings. It's like a dull rumble, not as noticeable in the Med and Low setting. I have replaced 2 of these fan units on my 4Runner and am paranoid that I may need to replace this on the Prius. Need to know if this is a do-it yourself'er or do I need to have the dealer extract his many pounds of gold to do this...

The passenger-side airbag assembly, the engine ECU, transmission control ECU, and network gateway ECU must be removed to gain access. Some air ducting also must be removed. Then the blower motor can be removed.

If this sounds like a project that you can take on, I suggest that you download the repair manual pages from techinfo.toyota.com

    Good luck.
