    Hello....

Bit sad today, and I want to share my experience.

Last night a kind gentleman did not respect a red light and I had the misfortune of getting in his way....

    Bummer Tramp!

Hope it can be repaired as well.

Was the guy that hit you someone in town for the olympics and not used to the area?

Or maybe someone from the Fiat plant that didn't like to see an import...

Keep us posted on the outcome...

    Chao...

Nobody was hurt, I was alone in the car and I just slightly shocked for the first 10 seconds....

The airbags did not go off.

The body repearer still has to give his verdict.

I believe it is more the second option: he was a local, on retirement, with an Alfa 156 2.4L JTD SW, typical Fiat-employee car... :)
What buggers me is that ignoring red lights is a national, non-olympic sport over here.

sorry to see your car looking like that but this will be an easy repair. Lots worse have been successfully repaired and properly. Here the other person would be charged with running the red light and pay a fine, get points add to their driver's liscence and have their insurance cost go up. At least you'll get new parts installed as there is no aftermarked parts yet for a Prius.

In my case it's my word against his. He sais he had the green and so do I. No witnesses, even it it was 6:30 PM: That's Italy for you: nobody cars and stops to testify.

So, for italian law, no fine for nobody, no lost points, and we both pay 50% of the damages. Both of our insurances will go up.

Awfully sorry to hear about your accident. Glad nobody was hurt. Horrible pictures. *shiver*

My sister lived in Italy for three years. (Speaks fluent Italian now.) She says the roads are insane over there. Says nobody pays any attention to lights, laws, crosswalks, etc. Says you take your life in your hands when you cross the street.

Good luck with the repairs. And drive carefully.

Were you at least finally able to get the kid out of the back seat?! :)

And unfortunately, it doesn't look like your door bumper helped out too much here! :(

Sad for the car, but I'm sure glad everybody was OK. That's the important stuff at the end of the day.

Sorry to hear about the collision and to see your car looking like that. But very glad to hear that nobody was injured. Hope the repair costs aren't too astronomical. I've been in more than a few collisions when I first started driving and boy did that hit me financially. :(

    How right your sister is.

It took me some time to get used to Italy, being born in England and learned to drive in Belgium.

And I DO drive very carefully, only that, that night I was not too careful enough! :(

She is second my daughter, and I put her in the car to take the pictures and then go shopping.

No, it didn't quite bounce the bad guy away from the car, did it.... :(

I'll post them as soon as I get to know the repair costs.

    In Euro, naturally... :)
