Command system issue

For some reason, the voice command system on my 2013 Prius IV is having trouble with the voice recognition. It's as though the microphone is not working or is detached. Any voice command given is responded to with "Pardon", I retry and it fails again and the voice command is canceled. Has anyone had this issue? Is there some way to test the microphone or check its proper connection? Thanks in advance!!
