I bought my Prius a few months ago with 88k on the odometer. Today was a beautiful near 70 degrees so I decided to do my 90k service. Changed the oil and filter, engine air filter and cabin air filter. Installed my Fumoto oil valve and TRD engine oil cap for a little bling under the hood. Pretty simple DIY my only recommendation is to purchase an oil filter wrench as there's not much room to wrap your hand around the filter and spin it off. I put about 3.75 quarts of oil back in and it appeared very near the "full" mark on the dipstick. I'll check it again tomorrow after my commute and see if I'm still good.

I had a Futomo valve on my 4runner, nice but it drained really slow. What's the part number for the prius one?

FS103S is the one I bought. They do drain slower but I like the ease of use and no mess oil change.

    First thing
First thing I do is put the drain pan in place and open the Fumoto. Then, I check things such as the air filter, cabin filter, CV boots, fluid levels, my cuticles, color on my toenails, tire pressure, spare tire pressure....as the oil is draining.

I must have smaller hands as I have no problem with getting the filter off without a wrench.

Consider the AFT fluid change as well. Very well documented here the need for and procedure.

Yep, did that one as soon as I purchased my car at 88k miles. The fluid look to be in good shape when I changed it, so I don't think it was the first time.

I don't think this is a real "user" photo of the new oil filter cap -- there aren't any mouse "poops" around it.

Must be a staged Toyota thing to encourage us all to upgrade to new filler caps. :D

Luckily I park in a garage and have no rodent issues at this time . I'm very A.R. about keeping my vehicles clean, I hate driving a dirty car!

Here's a wider view photo of the engine compartment; I try to keep it very clean
