Here's the feature list for the 2009 Toyota Corolla. It goes on sale in February 2008. Will the Corolla be cooler than the Prius? Will it be possible to retrofit a 2007 Prius with the XM NavTraffic receiver?

From the Toyota Corolla 2009 News Release:

"An impressive list of optional comfort and utility features will be available
to further enhance the Corolla driving experience such as AM/FM/six-disc CD
changer with MP3/WMA playback capability, satellite radio (subscription
required) and six speakers, a power package that includes power windows and
door locks. Additional options on select grades include JBL Audio system with
AM/FM six-disc CD changer with eight speakers and Bluetooth®, Navigation
system with AM/FM CD with MP3/WMA playback capability and XM® satellite
    radio with XM NavTraffic®
capable with six speakers, leather-trimmed seats and
shift knob, tilt and slide moonroof, VSC with TRAC and cut-off switch."

Forget about the XM traffic. How about some decent seats!

Does it have automatic climate control, a MFD and 4.3L/100km (55US MPG)?
    Does it have green cred?
Does it show up wallys in 6 cylinder utes with loud exhausts in a way you can be sure they wont tell their mates (I got beat at the lights by a HYBRID!!!)
I'm sure it's a really nice little car.

Funny in the UK they have dropped the Corrolla, it has been replaced with the Auris. Interesting it has a 176bhp 2.2 diesel with 164 g/km.

I like the Corolla and its hatchback sibling, the Matrix.

But for sedans, I'd rather have the Honda Civic.

And for hatchbacks or wagons, I'd rather have the Honda Fit or, of course, the Prius.

Agreed. My GF's new Civic is very nice, for a conventional car.

I don't read that it has better A/C than the Prius so I don't follow your question :p

I see it has a TRAC with an "off" option. Interesting.
I thought we might start seeing conventional Toyotas with CVT and push button starters like the new Nissans but I guess not yet.

I wish that Toyota would offer the Prius package in the Matrix and the Rav4. Might need to put the Camry setup in the Rav4 because of the weight.

Yes it has automatic climate control, navigation, SKS, HIDs, LEDs, IPA and backup camera. However, the last 4 won't be available in NA (and probably not in Australia either).

It's a Corolla hatchback... Auris is the new name since it sounds cooler than "Corolla hatchback"... just like how we get the Matrix instead of a Corolla Hatchback.

In the UK they have seemed to stop selling the Corolla, and replaced it by a similar size car called the Auris, weird name but we also have the Yaris as a small car. The Auris is totally new seems to have new engine which are green and powerful.

Take a look at toyota.co.uk, it is a nice looking car would be great as a hybrid. Prius is quite a big car in the UK.
