Coulomb Gets Patent for LAN-Connected EV Charger

    Looks like Coulomb is quickly racking up the issued patents. This one gives them protection for EVSEs that have local area network interfaces, such as WiFi. The EVSEs communicate with a local gateway device which ultimately connects to Coulomb's servers. The advantage here is that Coulomb does not need cellular modems in each EVSE, only in the gateway, and therefore monthly cell phone costs are reduced for sites with a large number of EVSE installations.
