Hello, I just purchased a Prius that was involved in an accident. The front bumper took the hit. I get a Pre-Collision Malfunction. Shift system malfunction, Low brake power, windows won't roll up or down, Climate control is unresponsive, and I got various DTC. I also disconnected 12v battery and re.ived the hybrid battery service plug for an hour. I reset all codes with my Bi-directional scanner and no success. Is there a reset process for a crash safe mode on these Prius that must be done after an accident?
Thank you, I just took it to a Toyota Dealer this morning for a Diagnostic. It had an open recall for an engine harness. Maybe it is shorted to ground somewhere. The vehicle was not running for like 2 years and now I found a rats nest in the engine bay. Hopefully they chewed on the engine harness that needed to be replaced anyway and if they did, hopefully the recall still takes care of it and they dont claim it is a comprehensive loss.
UPDATE: There was an aftermarket alarm that was partially unplugged. One of the wires was still attached and it was causing a short. Some fuses were blown although I didn't find any. They also replaced part of the engine harness due to the recall. I did find that it had an aftermarket amplifier and the fuse was blown in the amplifier. Maybe that blew a few other fuses. I returned the stereo system back to stock and it works perfectly now. 1 hour of diagnostic time charged and voila.
