toyota prius priority website with a username and password in it, telling me i got a exclusive invite to pre order a 2010 prius but it looks like a total scam to me, i aint even opening it. its one of those emails that has an underline link
but the underline links point to some martizmail.ca url

I opened it. As far as I can tell, it's genuine. Did you get a PM at Priuschat from Toyota asking for your information? I think this is what it's about, though if we're going to discuss it it should probably be in the other thread. Maritz is a real marketing company, who Toyota probably hired to do the promotion.

By the way, your shift key isn't working.

i called the 877 number, it sounds legit. its some toyota prius preorder hotline, they ask me to keep it confidential and they are offering no prices but 3 different configurations..

but i am really paranoid about clicking on links in emails

Maritz was the company that put on Prius Connection Detroit.

    Whoops, fixed the link.

If you go to the preorder page, it knows what dealer you bought your existing Prius from, so they obviously have access to Toyota's customer database.

This is legit and will go out to a limited number of individuals.

May I suggest that you do use it, otherwise your comments will rank down there with the kindergarten set, no matter how eloquent they may sound. Besides, it does show some respect for those of us who have spent somewhat longer trying to perfect written communications in the English language.

You do want to be understood, don't you?

I hope this doesn't mean that existing owners may get a new one before non-owners will.

No Ron, what PriuStorm meant was that you did not use shift keys either when you chose your username: ronhowell. You also didn't use the space key. :D And if it's not your real name, then why are you using it as your signature in your posts?

I mean no offense BTW, I'm just pointing out the obvious.

Only a select number of active enthusiasts as a reward for their ongoing promotion and support of the Prius. I am confident the number will be under 200 units that will go to pre-orders.

Put me down as one of the 200 ('Gold' Package, Blue Ribbon Metallic/Dark Gray).

As far as pricing, well, if it's truly outrageous (particularly if the Honda Insight is really priced as low as they claim it's going to be), I'll let Toyota sic their lawyers on me when I try to cancel. Frankly, if I change my mind after the cut-off date, I don't see cancelling it as being much of a problem. I've had good relations with my dealer in the past and I don't see them trying to pull anything, but I suppose there's always that chance.

As to 'why' I ordered, sight unseen, the reviews of the 2010 have been good, my pkg #2 '06 has over 60k trouble-free miles on it, and I was really waiting for that sunroof. I would have liked to have had the LED headlights and adaptive cruise control, too, but they're not available with the sunroof due to height/mpg concerns that come with the 17" wheels. Plus, if there had been a version of 2010 completely loaded with all the options, it likely would have been too cost prohibitive for my tastes (remember, I've been driving around in a package #2 that also had the tax credit).

    Anyone else?

Listen to the man. The Prius Priority online ordering is legit. We have been expecting it to hit but hadn't had time to warn people.

Repeat: The Prius Priority online ordering of the 2010 Prius is legitimate. It was sent be the same Toyota team posting the weekly sneak peaks. Danny, Tideland, Evan and I know all the details and can vouch for the legitimacy.

The pre-order can be canceled once you see the price...no problem there according to Prius Team.
